Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast

Millbury, MA: The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce to host its Legislative Breakfast on Friday, February 16th, 2018 from 7:30am – 9:00am at the Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329 16 S Main St, Millbury, MA 01527.
 
Join the Blackstone Valley Chamber, and all of your local legislators, for a question and answer session on all current legislation happening now. We are here to educate you as our members on issues that are going to impact your business or workplace one way or another. Our guest speaker, Eileen McAnneny, and our local legislators will be going over important details of the upcoming ballot questions, including topics such as: Ballot Question talking points, sales tax talking points, organizational sales tax support form, business sales tax support form, and individual sales tax support form.

Eileen McAnneny joined the staff of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation as its President in February, 2015. Ms. McAnneny, an attorney, comes to the Foundation after more than 20 years of government relations, public policy, advocacy and managerial experience in both the public and private sectors in Massachusetts. She held executive level positions at the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, serving as its President and CEO; at Fidelity Investments as a Director of Public Policy; and at Associated Industries of Massachusetts as its Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Associate General Counsel, where she focused on health care and tax policy issues for the employer community.

Ms. McAnneny worked in the public sector a staff attorney for the Joint Committee on Revenue of the Massachusetts legislature, playing a key role in numerous significant tax policy changes, including reforms to the corporate tax code, an overhaul of the Appellate Tax Board, amendments to DOR’s administrative practices and updates to unclaimed property collections. 

A cum laude graduate of Tufts University and Suffolk University Law School, Ms. McAnneny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a juris doctorate in law.  She is a Commissioner of the Group Insurance Commission and on the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Central Bank.
Also attending the breakfast will be Senator Michael Moore, Senator Ryan Fattman, Representative David Muradian, Representative Joseph McKenna, Representative Brian Murray, Representative Kevin Kuros, and Representative Paul Frost.

This will be one of the most important information sessions you attend this year. The referendum of ballot questions could greatly affect the way you do business. The speaker and legislators will help you to understand the ballot questions and what they really mean to you as a business owner and as an employee.
